you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and
even to the remotest part of the earth.”
The typical Religious breakdown you find online is that the major religion is Catholicism at 73.6%, Protestant makes up 15.4%, Spiritualist 1.3%, 7.4% don't claim a religion, and 2.3% are other.
But what the census doesn't tell you is that the 15% "Protestant" includes:
Pentecostal; Episcopalian; Muslims
Jehovah's Witness; Buddhist
Mormon and many more - So the number of actual born again Believers is much lower.
Where?
BGFM has adapted a goal by the year of 2020 in which they hope to start church plants in the following cities. >
For Language study and transition purposes we will be in Maceio the capital of Alagoas. Our burden is for the city of Aracaju, the capital of Sergipe. It is a metropolitan area of 600,000 and as far as we know there are NO Biblically sound churches anywhere in Aracaju. Our prayer is that we can form a team to go to Aracaju with us, once Adam has learned the language and transitioned into the culture.
What?
Our focus will be Church Planting in Brazil. From Church Planting other ministries will sprout such as Children's Ministries, Camp Ministries, Radio Ministries, Bible Training, and much more.
When?
We have tickets for June 14, 2015! We couldn't be more excited! The Lord has provided in amazing ways, giving us not only our minimal support needed (on the Jump Start Program) in less then a year actively support raising; but also providing Adam's Permanent Visa in only 3 weeks, which is almost unheard of. We are so excited to see how God will lead and provide for us in the unknown days to come :)
